Though he’s not likely to release a new film anytime soon, that hasn’t stopped David Lynch from finding a new outlet for his creativity: music. His second solo album, The Big Dream is out now and a new ten-minute video has arrived online chronicling how the record came together.
The behind-the-scenes video is pretty straightforward (though starting off and interspersed with Lynch-ian weirdness) and features probably the most direct interview that Lynch has ever done, at least in terms of shedding light on his process. You can also catch some footage of Lynch playing slide guitar in the studio. It’s great that Lynch is still excited about pushing his own boundaries at his age but we still wish someone with some extra cash would just finance Lynch’s next cinematic foray into the weird. Someone get Megan Ellison on the phone.
