Say what you will about the well-heeled Coppola clan, none of them are resting on their laurels. And while she hasn't made a feature splash like Francis, Sofia or Roman, so far Gia Coppola has been getting a plethora of experience under her belt with short films, and the past few weeks have seen two more surface.

The first on deck is "What's Up," a project made in collaboration with fashion label Wren and Lulu magazine. For the most part, this is a familiar riff, focusing on a bored but well-off young woman (Bella Zarember) in Los Angeles, who idles her time hanging out in her room, listening to Ciara and observing people going in and out of the house, until she ventures outside and has...an unexpected encounter. It's kind of a Herzog/Lynch finale that's a total WTF moment, but it's also kind of brilliant, too.

Next is "Writer's Block," which stars Tracy Antonopoulos, who Coppola previously worked with as co-director on a film for Opening Ceremony and another short, "Non Plus One" starring Kirsten Dunst and Jason Schwartzman. Here, Gia and Tracy get some more help from their friends, as Aubrey Plaza narrates and Ray Liotta cameos in this effort for Current/Elliot. It's a pretty clever and creative flick, one that bears some obvious influence of Wes Anderson and Michel Gondry, telling the tale of woman trying to make it in Hollywood as a screenwriter. Lots of lo-fi fun being had here. Check 'em both out below [Fashionista/Telegraph]
