We're sure the upcoming "Masters Of Sex" has the noblest of intentions, but we're also pretty sure the suits at Showtime were happy to have a program that will undoubtedly be a nudity fest (because, ratings), and have it all be in the name of telling the story. Putting the smuttier aspects aside, this 3-minute trailer for the upcoming show actually positions itself as a pretty intriguing looking drama about the intersection of love, sex and science.
Starring Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan, and ranking on our 15 Shows To Look Out For In The Coming Season, the series is based on Thomas Maier's "The Masters Of Sex: The Life and Times Of William Masters and Virginia Johnson the Couple Who Taught America How to Love" and tells the (probably dramatized) true story of the pioneering couple who researched sex acts, putting together an unprecedented study on intimacy, sexual dysfunction, and more. So yes, we'll both learn the science of the orgasm and faking it. And what we see here is a pretty compelling blend of drama and comedy, and certainly a unique premise, with two leads who we're always happy to watch whatever they're in.
"Masters Of Sex" takes it off and gets it on starting September 29th at 10 PM.
