Cannes 2013: Surprises & Notable Absence ...Watch: 3 New Clips From 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter' Plus Ear Ruining Linkin Park Scored Music Trailer
The clips largely feature Lincoln, as played by Benjamin Walker, in steely-faced combat mode, first fighting vampires with Anthony Mackie on the roof of a train in tufts of fog, and then in a ballroom at the behest of the film's baddie Rufus Sewell. The last, which involves Dominic Cooper in a ridiculous haircut and sunglasses, asks the question, “What does Lincoln think about when he cuts down trees?” The answer is his mother's death by vampire of course, as he cleaves one so powerfully it simply explodes.
With the film opening this week, and audiences still wondering to themselves whether they enjoyed “Prometheus” or not, those over at 20th Century Fox are pushing for more weapons, more blood, more everything in their attempts to sell this thing. Unfortunately, the clips play into the more muddled aspects of director Timur Bekmambetov's style, as seen most egregiously in “Daywatch," and all the physical presence Walker brings to the role might prove little to save the film overall. And if that's not enough, a new "music trailer" featuring Linkin Park has also arrived and may drive a wooden stake through your ear drums.
Still, take a look yourself below, and see if a glimpse of Lincoln's axe-gun (?) raises any interest for when the film opens June 22nd.

Ear ruining Linkin Park scored music trailer? I for one don't care to read if the author is not a fan of Linkin Park. I like the song.
