There's yet another reason to stay away from the multiplex and sit on the couch, and this time it's from the fertile mind of Steven Soderbergh. The director is returning to the small screen (you may have forgotten his short-lived "K-Street") with "The Knick," and some teasers have arrived to give you a little taste.
Clive Owen will lead the ten-part series—entirely directed by Soderbergh—that takes the medical drama genre and drops it in 1900s New York City, with the show revolving around the Knickerbocker Hospital and the surgeons, nurses and staff who worked without the advantages of modern medicine. And these teasers suggest things are going to get very bloody indeed. Oh, do you need another reason to be stoked for this? Cliff Martinez is scoring the damn thing.
No exact launch date yet, but look for "The Knick" this summer.
