“Girl Most Likely,” which premiered at TIFF last year as “Imogene,” will finally be released theatrically this weekend. It’s understandable if this news surprises you, seeing as how we’ve seen very little marketing from the film so far starring Kristen Wiig and Annette Bening. For the most part, we enjoyed the film, even if it had its share of problems. A trailer was released over two months ago, but despite starring Wiig, we haven’t heard or seen much else regarding the film. What’s the deal? Well, with a week to go, the marketing spring is underway for the movie with four clips unleashed on the interwebs, which you can check out below.
Co-starring Matt Dillon, Christopher Fitzgerald, and Darren Criss, the film, directed by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini (“American Splendor”), centers on Imogene (Wiig) who has just been released from the hospital after suffering a nervous breakdown. She winds up going back home to live with her mother (Bening), and in the midst of trying to get her life back together, finds herself in the middle of many quirky adventures, as the clips certainly highlight.
You can catch “Girl Most Likely” in theatres this Friday. Meanwhile, check out the clips below. [EW]
