Okay, we got some of the jokes out of our system yesterday, so now we can return to talking about Terrence Malick's "To The Wonder" seriously, and what better way to do that than with five clips from the movie that really delve into the thematic territory the filmmaker explores with his latest.

While romance is certainly a central factor in the movie, with Ben Affleck's character torn between two women -- his new wife played by Olga Kurylenko and his old flame, played by Rachel McAdams -- the movie wonders if we can really ever achieve pure love in a world so soured spiritually and environmentally (the latter is touched upon very briefly, though not in these sequences). As we'll see below, Javier Bardem's priest (his role is minor) gives advice but also struggles with his own duties and beliefs, while elsewhere love both soars and seeks someone to fulfill it.

"To The Wonder" will open in limited release and arrive on VOD on April 12th. Watch below.

these are ecstatic and they fill me with such a strange joy. i love all of malicks films, but never (imo) has he conveyed such a pure expression of who he is (see his natal chart) and it has me brimming with excitement for his future projects, and for next friday of course. him and his team have truly found something wholly amazing through this new experimentation.

Don't be. As a fan of The Tree Of Life and Malick, this wasn't very good.
