As we head into October, the Oscar race is still pretty wide open, but after a few frontrunners have emerged, and contending right alongside "Life Of Pi" and "Silver Linings Playbook" as big pieces of entertainment offering a little bit more as well, is Ben Affleck's "Argo."

The based-on-a-true-story tale chronciles the CIA mission to rescue Americans trapped in Iran after the 1979 revolution, under the guise of making a Hollywood movie. Premiering in Telluride and hitting TIFF soon after, Affleck's third effort behind the camera was met with strong praise, including our assessment, which said "there's tons to admire and love in it, from several terrific character actor performances, an inspired pace and momentum and a well-balanced tone that shifts effortlessly from sobering intensity to humor and back again." You can read our full review right here or take a look at the six clips below which give a pretty peek at the movie, setting the pieces in motion, without giving up the game entirely. Also a brand new character poster for Bryan Cranston has dropped too.
