What happens if you're dating a rock star and you move with him to New York City, only for the relationship to end and leave you heartbroken? Well, use the city as your studio and make an album. That's the series of events that loosely outline "Begin Again," the summer musical romance where a record contract could be the saving grace for a few people trying put their lives back together.
Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo, Adam Levine, Catherine Keener and Mos Def star in the John Carney ("Once")-directed effort, that follows a down-and-out record producer who pledges to make a young woman The Next Big Thing after hearing her sing at an open mic. Keep those hopes alive. It's a pretty silly movie but also harmless enough and watchable, thanks to the cast.
"Begin Again" opens in limited release on June 27th and goes wide on July 11th. Watch below plus a new clip from the film.
