Watch: Blood Is Pain In First Teaser Trailer For Yet Another YA Franchise Hopeful 'Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters'

We were going to go with the headline "Watch: First Teaser Trailer For 'Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters' Sucks...Blood" but that just seemed too obvious. Either way, it seems we're getting yet another tale of teens and vampires and powers all in the name of hopefully, maybe launching another franchise to lure those all-important tween dollars. But as we've seen from the roadside collateral of fare like "Beautiful Creatures" and "The Host," just being based on a best-selling book isn't always enough.

Anyway, this latest contender has "Mean Girls" director Mark Waters directing a script from "Heathers" writer Daniel Waters, based on the book by Richelle Mead, but despite those bona fides, this looks generic as hell. Frankly, it looks like "Vampire Diaries" meshed with "True Blood" or basically any other bloodsucker series you've seen already, with a bit of self-aware, high-school-is-bonkers stuff we've seen in other movies (like "Mean Girls" or "Heathers"....). So fans of the books might be excited, but everyone else? Meh.

"Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters" starts enrollment on Valentine's Day 2014.
