Certainly, this very red band NSFW footage (mostly for some swearing and buckets of blood) doesn't hold back on the red stuff. It's a teaser in every sense in that there's not much delivered in the way of plot, but instead we get the general gist: freaky book, cabin the woods, shit gets very fucking real. This clearly won't be a PG-13 retread, and if you need to be convinced, the final shot of a character splitting their tongue in an act of self-mutilation that closes out the teaser will get the job done. And as for lead Jane Levy, it's definitely a huge left turn for anyone used to seeing her on "Suburgatory."
With last night's arrival of the "Carrie" teaser, both cult horror remakes are out of the gate. Which do you prefer? Or are they both good or bad? Weigh in below. "Evil Dead" rises on April 12th. [We Got This Covered]

It just looks like the evil dead shot with modern cameras and a less charmingly oddball/charismatic lead than Bruce Campbell. What is the effing point?

Can anyone give me an example of a trailer that didn't kill at a comic book convention?

I don't truly like either of the trailers. This one is a little better, but suffers from the same wooden teen/early twenties acting. Really tired of the line "You're all going to die...". I do agree with the previous commenter that the style seems cobbled up from some other genre flicks.

In any case Evil dead has much more to show than Carrie (who is to say that the Carrie trailer features actual footage from the film... btw I hope it's doesn't). Reactions to my previous comments seems to indicate I'm the bad guy here, but I keep thinking it looks highly unoriginal and/or bad. Precisely it looks like a mix of Gans's Silent Hill (which I confess I liked) and a Darren L Bousman flick (really not a fan). But I honestly hope I'm wrong.

Not the best way to view the trailer, but from what I saw it definitely looks like it will give the people their money's worth.
