10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesWith a few weeks set to go before it hits theaters, the marketing campaign for the Steven Soderbergh film is beginning to ramp up and four new TV spots have arrived. There are bits and pieces of new footage, with Rihanna and Maroon 5 (shudder) providing the backing tunes for these spots, the message is clear: hot guys, hip music, no clothes. But guys, don't be worried if your signficant other drags you to this. From what we hear, this thing is a crowd pleaser across the board, and certainly, the spots promise a pretty entertaining piece of counterprogramming to the brand-driven season.
"Magic Mike" swings around the pole on June 29th. Check out the clips below along with a new poster for the film. [HeyUGuys]

I have a strong feeling this is gonna be a huge disappointment for everyone these commercials are targeting. The way Contagion wasn't Outbreak 2, and bored the hell out of everyone who expected it to be. Maybe it can deliver the goods, but these commercials make it look like a Step Up movie.

Like I said before, the marketing guys sure know who they're selling this film at now. The trailer & early poster may have name checked Olivia Munn & that other chick for the guys but now it's all hombres on the posters & marketing.
