“Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy” is one of those highly anticipated films that feels like it's been on its way to theatres forever. With Gary Oldman’s performance being touted for Oscar, the film has already been playing in the U.K. to strong reviews and big box office. The Tomas Alfredson (“Let the Right One In”)-directed film begins its rollout December 9th, and now there’s a new clip from the film. ‘Tinker Tailor’ feels like a film that is very clip-resistant, and this one doesn’t give much away, but features some lovely cinematography, a few beautiful camera moves, and some thrillingly tense British politeness between Oldman and Colin Firth.
We caught the film at the Venice Film Festival at the end of the summer, and found it to be “incredibly rich and perfectly constructed, sitting with ‘The Conversation’ and ‘The Ipcress File’ in the very upper reaches of the [spy] genre.”
Here’s hoping ‘Tinker Tailor’ success continues to hold as it crosses over stateside. To get your feet wet a little bit more, a plethora of pics have also landed for the film suggesting the art and costume department might want to get some tuxedos ready as well.
