"Begin Again" hit theatres earlier this year, "Frank" is out this weekend, "Rudderless" is around the corner, but sandwiched in between will be "God Help The Girl" to scratch your musical itch. It's the directorial debut of Belle & Sebastian frontman Stuart Murdoch and after premiering at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, and some new material has arrived to give you a look at the movie itself and how it was made.

Starring Emily Browning, Hannah Murray, and Olly Alexander, the movie follows three Glaswegian youths forming a band. And after winning a couple of World Cinema Jury Prize awards in Park City, Murdoch reveals Hollywood came banging on his door for more. “These big New Yorkers were saying, ‘You know, you need to get another movie under your belt. We need to move straight away while you’re hot. We can hook you up with this star who is looking for a director’ and this sort of thing," the director told Daily Record. "I was curious to sit there for five minutes and pretend that I was a working film director. I’d love to carry on making more but I wanted to go back with the band and wait for a really good idea to come for my next film project and script and direct it myself.”

So it might be a while until Murdoch's sophomore effort, but until then, check out the videos below. "God Help The Girl" opens on September 5th. [MTV/Pitchfork]
