With a stellar reaction at the New York Film Festival last month, Ang Lee’s 3D opus “Life Of Pi” is turning into a major awards contender and now the studio is amping up its marketing push, hoping to crossover from critical raves to actual box office success. 20th Century Fox has released both a behind-the-scenes featurette and a clip.

If you went to a 3D screening of “Prometheus” earlier this summer, then the clip -- which features Pi having to deal with both flying fish and a hungry tiger on small boat -- will be familiar to you, though it’s in old fashioned 2D. In the unfortunately brief featurette, however, there are some glimpses of the larger scope of the film, both in terms of the film and the actual production. With its release date inching closer, expect to hear a lot more about “the dazzling and emotionally rich” adaptation.

“Life of Pi” opens on November 21st in both 2D and 3D. Check out the videos below along with the new UK poster for the film. [Yahoo/ComingSoon/Empire]
