With his hands already full with the recently released "Machete Kills" and the forthcoming "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For," Robert Rodriguez still found time in 2013 to work on another project, the TV series version of his 1996 genre mashup, "From Dusk Till Dawn." And less than a year after it was first announced, we already have the first teaser trailer giving us a peek at what he's put together. And no surprise here, it's pure pulp.

D.J. Cotrona and Zane Holtz lead the show as outlaw brothers who also happen to kick the ass of the undead, with Don Johnson, Wilmer Valderrama and Robert Patrick in support. And as you might suspect, this is far from high art, with the show offering plenty of action and babes, and little nuance. But what did you expect? The film was a bit of grindhouse fun and the show looks to be keeping in that spirit, which is all one can really ask.

"From Dusk Till Dawn" kicks off on March 11th on El Rey. Check out the trailer and poster for the series below. [Buzzfeed/EW/Slashfilm]

Pulp, action & babes is not a synonym of bad quality. And just by themselves are not enough to make something watchable. This looks so cheap.

Oh, holy shit. That's nothing short of a peach. Two questions: One - is DJ Cotrona playing the same character Clooney played (same tattoo, same line, none of the charm)? and Two - What the in the hell is El Rey Network?
Bonus Question: Is Cotrona a victim of the Superman curse? I mean, he was cast and never shot the film, but this feels like the kind of show someone who is cursed might be part of - well... a curse, or a cocaine and puss addiction.
