No matter how good Nicolas Cage's intentions tend to be—see our interview in Berlin from last year, where the actor suggests he wants to try working with more auteurs and doing more intimate work—there always tends to be some pay-the-bills-looking shlock around the corner. Cage might have recently said David Gordon Green's "Joe" was his best performance in ages, but maybe that matters little when there's a "Left Behind" following it up.

We've already seen the pretty glorious first clip from the film, and now comes the full trailer, and you can now see the full results of what happens when Cage is unleashed to do a remake of a Kirk Cameron hit. Veteran stuntman Vic Armstrong ("Raiders Of The Lost Ark," "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit") directs this one that sounds a little like HBO's "The Leftovers," about a group of survivors left behind after the world is plunged into an apocalyptic wasteland. Oh, and this is based on a best-selling book series co-written by a guy who's not a fan of gays and thinks the Illuminati secretly runs the world

The movie drops on October 3rd. Say your prayers and watch below.

I hope there is either a hologram version, or at least a cardboard stand ... the eyes follow you.

Cage's wig budget should be set for years to come if this does well enough to warrant films based on the other books.

Quote: "who is not a fan of gays"... So what? Not being a fan of gays is OK. It doesn't mean you go out shooting them down like some wild beasts. It's sad that nowadays the GayStapo Mafia has made us believe that "who is not with them, is against them". So, people are pretending they are "fan of gays" just because they're afraid of not being called bigots, homophobes... etc. Adieu, freedom of speech and conscience! (p.s. on the internet I can express my opinion, but at my workplace... hmm, I keep quiet, otherwise I might lose my job! ;) )

Guys, remember that Dan's just bitter because he sees the tide of history and recognizes that in a generation, his worldview will be as meaningless as that of people who used to say they just weren't "fans" of Asians or black people or Jews or Catholics. History is against him and he knows it and it scares him.

"who is not a fan of gays" means you're against them. not necessarily shooting them.
it's like saying you're against African Americans or people from Delaware. it's fitting people into a certain group. gay people are as diverse as any other type of people.

Freedom of speech as laid out in the first amendment protects you from being arrested and prosecuted for saying things. It does not protect your from ALL consequences. In your workplace, you are an agent of the company. Anything you do to misrepresent that company or create what they believe is a hostile work environment can lead to termination.
