Picked up by The Weinstein Company last fall, rumored for Cannes and generally spending the last few months teasing us with a handful of stills repurposed into posters as well, now comes the first real look at Bong Joon-ho's upcoming, star-studded "Snowpiercer." Was it worth the wait?
The first trailer for the movie has arrived and there is no doubt it's ambitious. The 99% vs. 1% story takes place on a train in a post-apocalyptic and wintery future, where a train is divided into a class system. But of course, that doesn't sit well wit those below and revolt brews. There are a lot of axes in here, and shots of crowds of people crashing into other and running around, but we have to say the movie looks more action heavy and perhaps a bit less atmospheric that we might have been hoping. But then again, it's hard to tell if that's just the way the trailer has been cut. Nonetheless, with this cast? We'll be there.
Starring Chris Evans, Jamie Bell, John Hurt, Song Kang-ho, Alison Pill, Octavia Spencer and Ewen Bremner, the film opens in South Korea on August 1st but no stateside date yet. Watch below.
