At this point you’re not a major festival if you don’t have a portion of your schedule dedicated to genre fare screening at midnight. TIFF has Midnight Madness and SXSW has the Midnighters, the latter of which screened the very creepy and intimate “Honeymoon.” The horror film’s first trailer has arrived online to get under your skin.
Starring Harry Treadaway ( “The Lone Ranger," “Penny Dreadful”) and Rose Leslie (aka Ygritte from “Game of Thrones”), the film focuses on the two actors as a newly married couple on their honeymoon in an upstate New York cabin. Naturally, strange things begin happening and Treadaway begins to suspect something is wrong with his wife. We saw the film at SXSW and found it to be a solid entry into the body snatching subgenre.
Watch the “Honeymoon” trailer below along with the poster (via Complex) and catch the film when it hits VOD and select theaters on September 12th.
