10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesDirected by Andres Muschietti in what is an expansion of his 2008 short of the same name, the plot revolves around two little girls who ran away into the woods after their parents were mysteriously killed. Now under the care of the raven haired Chastain and some guy who isn't Jeffrey Dean Morgan because they couldn't afford him, something sinister may still be following them. CUE OMINOUS SHOT OF A LIGHT SWITCH!
This looks kind of awful, and could this be Chastain's first misstep? Will she follow the path of fellow young rising actresses Elizabeth Olsen and Jennifer Lawrence in knocking out a horror movie that will quickly be forgotten? Or will this be a pleasant surprise to kickstart 2013? "Mama" calls for you on January 18th.

The short film this feature was based on was awesome. Saw it at the Eerie Horror Fest a couple years back.

Her first misstep ? Have you seen Texas Killing Field ?
She'll have her Trespass/The Invasion or The Forgotten/Freedomland just like Kidman and Moore, the older red-haired thespians.

Look alright to me. But did they just semi-spoil the ending in the trailer? The unearthed skeleton?

Hey even Peter Sarsgaard and Vera Farmiga did Orphan. Nothing wrong with a change of scenery for an actor.

Movie looks bog-standard, but goth Jessica Chastain is AMAZING.

Don't forget that Jennifer Lawrence's film was shot way back in 2010 even before her Oscar nomination. She is far and away my favorite actress. Just as long as the film is not historically bad. It will come out, make some money, hopefully be better than my modest expectations, and then she can laugh about while she's on the red carpet at the Oscar's for Silver Linings Playbook.

Doesn't look half bad to me... I would watch it at home for sure.

It looked Okay!! And JessicaChastain-in-a-horror-movie is kinda enough to get me sold on this really.

I think it looks pretty decent (worried about that January slot though) and goth Chastian is an über-hottie.

Aw common Kevin at least try to hide your disdain for these flicks ! This one doesn't look "that" bad despite the promo/PR opening with Del Toro all over the place. And said guy is Nikolaj Coster-waldau of Games of throne and Headhunters fame (no not that kind of Head-hunter)... good actor really. PS : was the silent house even released ? not that I really care (saw the original who wasn't that great indeed)

What's so awful about it? Thought it was actually kind of creepy.
