Watch: Gru & The Minions Are Back To Fight Evil In New Trailer For 'Despicable Me 2'

Here's an honest question: when you put song by Eminem that's over a decade old in the trailer for a kids movie, who exactly are you trying to appeal to? Parents, who have a suddenly nostalgia for Slim Shady? It certainly can't be kids who probably have no idea who or what a Marshall Mathers is. More importantly, their parents wouldn't likely let them listen to the rapper in the first place. Anyway, long story short, the new trailer for "Despicable Me 2" has arrived, and outside the bizarre soundtrack choice, it's not too bad.

Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) and the franchise-able, licensed-products-worthy Minions are back to in what looks like a pleasing followup for anyone who was a fan the first time around. On this outing, Gru and and his pals are rounded up by the Anti Villain League to help face off against a brand new threat, with their expertise in evil being in crucial demand. Gags fly around aplenty and all told, it doesn't seem to be messing the formula established the first time out.

Featuring the voices of Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove, Russell Brand, Ken Jeong, Steve Coogan, Moises Arias, Dana Gaier, Elsie Fisher and Al Pacino (!), the sequel lands in time for your long weekend on July 3rd. Watch below.
