It looks like Spider-Man isn't the only superhero that's going to find high school to be an awkward experience. When we catch up with Mindy Macready in this summer's "Kick-Ass 2," she'll be doing her best to fit in, but it looks like the skills of her alter ego will help in finding a place among her teenage peers.
A new trailer has dropped centering on Chloe Moretz's popular character, in what we presume will be the first in a handful of spots zeroing in on specific crime-fighters and villains from the flick. In this spot, which features a good chunk of new footage, we get some time with Mindy's new guardian Sergeant Marcus Williams (Morris Chestnut), and a whole lot action stuff too. But what will be interesting to see is if the meta wink-wink humor of "Kick-Ass" will continue to be fresh when even more serious minded comic book adaptations tend to show some kind of self-awareness. And oh yeah, the green screen stuff here still looks pretty shoddy, but maybe that's a stylistic choice?
Anyway, we'll find out on August 16th. Watch below.
