Earlier this year, Jamie Foxx signed on to produce, write and direct a horror series for Syfy. It was an ambitious move considering he'd never directed before, but now he's got some experience under his belt.
As part of Canon's Project Imaginat10n photo contest, overseen by Ron Howard, Foxx has directed the 15-minute sci-fi romance short "...And She Was My Eve." Using ten photographs as inspiration from the winners of the contest, Foxx put together this film—described by MTV as " 'Frankenstein' on acid"—about a man who tries to build the perfect companion, but of course, doesn't get what he bargained for. And for Foxx, the whole experience basically confirmed his desire to continue pursuing directorial work.
"It gave me the bug. I want to be able to do things with no constraints and really just go at it. I've got a couple of comedies I want to make and a thriller I want to direct," he told MTV. Does he have what it takes? Check out his first short below.
