Are artful ads the new mini-cinema to entertain us in a new era of bite-sized digestibles? Has it always been this way? Is this the best commercial you’ll see on the Internet all day? We thought that "Gravity"/IKEA thing was funny, but this Volvo Trucks ad starring action star Jean-Claude Van Damme is amazing, hilarious, beautiful and kind of insane. It’s pretty astonishing actually, and we wonder how much CGI was used, if any. Volvo writes, “This live test was set up to demonstrate the precision and directional stability of Volvo Dynamic Steering -- a world first technology that makes the new Volvo FM easier to drive. “ Let’s hope there’s no Volvo-gate that transpires. Perhaps the most brilliant aspect of it? The use of Enya’s “ Only Time.” Directed by Andreas Nilsson, apparently the spot was shot in Spain on a closed-off landing field at sunrise in one take (which probably means there’s no trickery involved). Either way, it’s impressive. Watch below.
