Yesterday saw the release of the long delayed Marvel Phase One box set and along with it plenty of goodies regarding Phase Two of company’s plans for box office dominance. So if you couldn’t make time to pick up the set -- or didn’t feel inclined to pony up the cash -- fear not, as a plethora of concept art, images, and video has surfaced online.
First up is an extended video preview of what Marvel has in store for their second wave of films. Like the teaser we linked to yesterday, the preview is mostly talking heads and for most of its running time it plays like an EPK for “Iron Man 3,” with only the briefest of mentions of “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Thor: The Dark World,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” and “Ant-Man.”
And if that wasn’t enough to whet your appetite, a slew of behind-the-scenes stills, concept art, and screenshots have also surfaced. Of particular note is the concept art for the James Gunn-helmed “Guardians of the Galaxy” which -- to this writer at least -- bears a visual resemblance to another Animals-In-Space property, the Nintendo video-game series “Star Fox.” It might just be the image of a wild animal wearing a space suit and holding a gun. There’s also an image that quite obviously owes a lot to the famous Mos Eisley sequence from the original “Star Wars.”
Marvel’s Phase Two kicks off with “Iron Man 3” next month on May 3rd. Check out the preview and images below. [via Collider]
