Yes, so the Cannes Film Festival lineup dropped this morning and there is a lot to talk about (and we'll be getting to that soon) but there are two things we know: Nicolas Winding Refn's "Only God Forgives" will be there, and it's still one of our most anticipated movies in the south of France. And even better, hot on the heels of the Cannes announcement this morning comes two brand new international trailer that is just as eye-poppingly badass as the first teaser.

The French trailer forgoes the "Tur Kue Kwam Fun (Music Box Version)"-driven American spot and gives up a bit more of the actual plot, and all we can say is: Kristin Scott Fucking Thomas. Playing the matriarch of a drug empire, she looks to be an absolute powerhouse in the role, with Ryan Gosling doing his mostly silent thing as a man (forced?) to seek revenge for the death of his brother against the equally verbally impenetrable Chang AKA The Angel of Vengeance, played by Vithaya Pansringarm. Meanwhile, the Scandinavian spot sticks to selling the bold stylization (this almost feels like a musical), and yeah, this one can't come soon enough.

"Only God Forgives" hits Cannes and makes its way to theaters not long after on July 19th. [Cinema Teaser/Montages]

If the storyteller can make us believe that he acts with impunity then we'll believe it.

    1) He's retired. 2) He's this kinda "Hand of God" figure who dispels his own version of justice that hovers over the city he inhabits like a storm cloud.

Wow, a modern classic already and hopefully a Palme D'Or recipient.

If you want to experience a real classy classic, then watch The Yakuza by Pollack with Robert Mitchum.

Do you know what classic means? How can you judge it as a classic when you haven't seen it?

Okay, I'm interested. Though a little worried that Gosling's becoming too cool for skool.

    Didn't happen to McQueen.
