There was a time when medicine was barely a science and something much more crude, as doctors tried to heal patients with what they knew, which wasn't much. And this summer, Steven Soderbergh will take audiences to the 1900s as advances were being made with "The Knick." And new teaser is here for what should be one of the must-watch shows of the summer.

Clive Owen leads the "The Knick" as Dr. John W. Thackery who works at New York's Knickerbocker Hospital. Old timey "E.R."? Perhaps on paper, but we expect Soderbergh to come at it from a different angle, and this one will likely be bloodier than any hospital drama we've seen in some time, with the promos so far not holding back on the red stuff one bit. We can't wait to see a proper full-length reveal of the show but this will do for now.

"The Knick" kicks off this summer, but Cinemax hasn't yet selected a date. Watch below. And in case you were wondering, the music in the trailer is "Home" by Colin Stetson.
