10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesA brand new red band trailer has arrived with more of our starlets -- Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine -- getting wet and wild, and hanging out with the cornrowed, good-time troublemaker Alien. As played by James Franco, it's another in a series of unexpected turns from the actor/writer/artist/student, but it turns out he had a bit of help. As Franco shares with MTV, Korine put him in touch with Floridian rapper Dangeruss to serve as his inspiration for the character. And the two hit it off in a big way.
"Danger and I rapped onstage together for the film. It was a rush. We had an audience of hundreds on the beach, MTV style. It was my first live rap appearance. He led me through. I felt like a gangster," Franco said. In fact, the actor repaid Dangeruss' help by directing the video for his song "Dope Boyz," which the pair perform in the movie, and is featured on the soundtrack.
"Spring Breakers" opens in New York and Los Angeles on March 22nd and goes wide on March 29th. Watch the trailer and check out two new UK posters for the movie below.
