Whatever happened to discreetly getting a hotel room? Or putting a pool table, a big screen TV and a jukebox in your basement, calling it a mancave and inviting your friends over? For the dudes in "Loft," an American remake of a 2008 Belgian film, cheating on their wives requires a serious commitment (unlike their marriages, we suppose), which includes pooling their resources into what one character accurately calls a "fuckpad."

Starring an interesting cast including Karl Urban (cool), Matthias Schoenaerts (who starred in the original and rules), James Marsden (meh), Eric Stonestreet (huh?) and Wentworth Miller (oh yeah), the thriller finds the dudes' good times extramarital affairs ruined when a dead body is found in their fancy pants loft, with some kind of clue left in Latin in blood. Yeah, it's one of those movies. Overall, this looks pretty much ready made for a VOD premiere, with director Erik Van Loy (who helmed the original) not really making a case for why we should care. But this trailer does have boobs in it we guess, so there's that.

Warner Bros. shingle Dark Castle acquired the film this summer, but no word yet on when it might hit theaters. But this early taste isn't that inspiring. Check it out below along with a handful of images form the film.

Casting Eric Stonestreet is not that strange if you watch the Belgian movie: one of the men has to assure some (limited) comic relief.
btw it's Van Looy, not Van Loy.
(yes, you do have Belgian readers)

Wasn't Jack Lemmon in the original?

Erik Van Loy said that "Loft" would be released in around 1500 theaters in US.

BTW, Erik Van Loy also said that he had re-edited "Loft" based on Joel Silver's suggestions.

No matter what you say, I always have love for movies with Marsden in them.

Labal, James Marsden is very underrated ( similar to Colin Farrell) . Plus, he can sing like an angel. I would love for James to star in a music biopic.
