Review: 'The Immigrant'
Rogen and Goldberg called in favors from familiar pals James Franco, Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Michael Cera and Emma Watson to take roles in the movie which takes place as the clock is ticking down to the end of everything. So, like "Melancholia" but much more hilarious (Udo Kier aside). And there's likely more surprises too, with Rihanna already confirmed for a cameo. So will it succed where other end-of-the-world comedies have failed? (We're looking at you "Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World"). Providing everything doesn't end tomorrow, we'll find out on June 14, 2013. Official synopsis and trailer below.
The comedy This Is The End follows six friends trapped in a house after a series of strange and catastrophic events devastate Los Angeles. As the world unravels outside, dwindling supplies and cabin fever threaten to tear apart the friendships inside. Eventually, they are forced to leave the house, facing their fate and the true meaning of friendship and redemption.

Well, I thought it was funny.

It's just a funny genre comedy created by Seth Rogen gang, why not relax and enjoy it. Bet some people else can not make the similar hilarious slacker things like this. If want to see something different of Seth Rogen, there are Guilt Trip and Take This Waltz.

I read this script a long time ago and it's hilarious. Don't know what Drew is on about being "self important". Self referencing, yeah, so if you're not into these guys and their brand of humour you're not going to get anything out of it. Danny McBride is going to steal this movie. He has the best part by far. Can't wait!

If the movie is anything like the scene that precedes the trailer here this is not going to be good. A 30 something being fascinated with weed and jerking off really isn't funny and even if it was Seth Rogens already made that joke in every single one of his movies so far. I'm not ruling this one out completely but the fact that he's directing it is troubling.

This will either be kind of funny or kind of terrible. (Or both.)

Not sure why the three below me are hating, this looks EPIC and already really funny. I can't wait to watch the full movie. Oh, Franco is HOT.

The photography is awful, like really cheap and digital.

The most moronic, self-important script I read all of this year. Read like an X-rated movie for Rogen and his friends, with all inside jokes that they clearly got and nobody else would.

That's the scene they chose to excite us to see this movie?
