While the National Association Of Theater Owners has restored the debate over the length and content of movie trailers, frankly, we could do without the deluge of movie character posters. It seems like an unnecessary marketing step solely designed to spend budget dollars and fill whatever vacant space on the buzz-meter is left around a given movie. And yet, here we are posting them, so I suppose that's part of the problem too.
Anyway, a fresh batch of one-sheets has arrived for "This Is The End," Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's collaborative directorial debut, telling the meta story of Rogen and his pals (playing themselves) getting caught up in some end of the world mayhem. It's promising in that we like everyone involved, but also potential treacherous since too much of these guys, particularly if they're missing the comedy mark, can be brutal. But with screenings getting underway this week, the verdict will be out soon enough.
Until then, here's the latest red band spot for the flick and the posters below. "This Is The End" arrives on June 12th. [Flicks And Bits]
