Just over a year ago, Terrence Malick stunned concertgoers at the Austin City Limits festival by mixing with the crowd while shooting Christian Bale, who mingled with amongst performers that included Arcade Fire, Iron & Wine and Fleet Foxes. As we predicted, now that "official" production has started on the untitled movie (last year's shoot was said to be pre-production) formerly known as "Lawless," Malick returned to Austin with his cast and crew in tow once again offering up some of the more curious memories of the weekend.

First off, Rooney Mara took the stage to play guitar with punk upstarts Black Lips, with some of that footage captured below. Meanwhile, hanging around backstage, the actress joined her co-stars Ryan Gosling and Michael Fassbender in hanging out with Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine. And oh yeah, there were some rumors and sightings of Emma Stone in Austin as well, perhaps making some kind of appearance, though she hasn't been captured by any photographers just yet, but we'll keep an eye out.

Set against the music industry (duh), whatever Malick has brewing continues to be a total mystery. But it's an intriguing one nonetheless. And if the shoot for "Knight Of Cups" is anything to go by, he'll likely have more surprises in store before he decided to head to the editing room. [Fuse via /Film]
