Watch: Seth MacFarlane Goes Hard R In First Trailer For 'Ted' With Mark Wahlberg & Mila Kunis

Here's the thing about Seth MacFarlane...when "Family Guy" first came on the air, it was a breath of fresh air, an irreverant, rude and very hilarious animated show that took "The Simpsons" template and pushed the envelope even further. And then he didn't really know what else to do. As he got more comfortable, MacFarlane and co. got less concered with using their voice for making political or social commentary, and instead just aimed for whatever lowbrow target they could hit. "Family Guy" became less a show than a string of random, barely connected jokes whose punchlines and subject matter got increasingly more obvious.

"Family Guy" became less a show than a string of random, barely connected jokes whose punchlines and subject matter got increasingly more obvious.

And so, here comes MacFarlane with his first feature film "Ted" and for better or worse, his trademark is all over this. This time around the non-human character he gives voice to is Ted, a stuffed teddy bear that comes to life thanks to a Christmas wish, and is now the best friend/roommate of John (Mark Wahlberg). But after 25 years together, John is ready to settle down Lori (Mila Kunis) who wants Ted to move out, and of course, complications arise. It's probably not a spoiler to tell you that by the end of this red band trailer, you'll hear an anal sex joke, see a reference to a blowjob and watch a boob get squeezed. Hilarious?  While this wasn't nearly as gut-busting as we would've hoped (Kunis deserves so much more than playing the straight woman here), Wahlberg looks to be in awesome form, and easily far more funny than the title character by a country mile.

Anyway, we'll see how it all plays out on July 13th. Watch below. Update: Less foul mouth green band trailer has arrived as well, watch it below. [via Collider]
