The barbaric slaughterhouse we call life means "True Detective" is no more – at least not in the iteration that had Woody Harrelson, Mathew McConaughey and director Cary Fukunaga. That team will move on, but series creator/showrunner and main writer Nic Pizzolatto will be back.
Still, you're probably still in the throngs of withdrawal and or wondering what the hell happened in the final episode of the series. Rust saw the light man, chill. No, it was about the men, not the supernatural and all that; their experience and how it changed them. “To me, the challenge was to not only let these guys live, but show true character change through this journey,” Pizzolatto told EW recently. “That passing through the eye of the needle in the heart of darkness has actually done something to them.
Anyhow, you've got two options in the interim while you wait for more from this series: believe the recent dumb rumors that Brad Pitt is joining the cast of season 2 (not even going to link that's so dumb), keep an eye open for the onslaught of dumb rumors to come, or watch these parody videos made separately by Seth Rogen (with Jimmy Kimmel) and Patton Oswalt (from Comedy Central). Which one do you like best? Weigh in below and note for those keeping score HBO technically hasn't greenlit "True Detective" season two. They need to see finished scripts first (but yes, the show was such a success it's not like they're gonna say no).
