Watch: Splattery Red-Band Trailer For Horror Anthology Sequel 'V/H/S 2'

The Playlist By Ken Guidry | The Playlist May 16, 2013 at 10:59AM

When “V/H/S” came out last year, reaction was… mixed, to put it lightly. Like most anthology films, it was wildly uneven. But it seems the concept is just too irresistible for other filmmakers to resist and thus, we have “V/H/S 2.” Originally titled “S-V/H/S”, the sequel premiered at Sundance this past January to a much more positive reception than the first (read our review). Now a red band trailer has just been posted online over at Yahoo and there’s only one way to describe it: utter mayhem.

Like the first one, “V/H/S 2” is a collection of found footage short films all from different directors. Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett are the only holdovers from “V/H/S,” with the rest including Eduardo Sanchez and Gregg Hale (the former of whom birthed the found footage horror genre with “The Blair Witch Project”), Gareth Evans (“The Raid”), Timo Tjahjanto, and Jason Eisener (“Hobo With A Shotgun”). Judging from the red band trailer, it looks like the filmmakers had a blast. You can join in on the fun when “V/H/S 2” comes out on VOD on June 6th and in theaters on July 12th.
