Love or fame? That's the big question a mustaciohed Paul Giamatti poses to newcomer Diego Boneta in "Rock Of Ages," Adam Shankman's big hairspray filled '80s musical. And based on that sentence, you should already know if you're down with this movie or not, without having to watch the trailer.
But, in case you're on the fence, this brand new spot lays out the story once again, with small town girl Julianne Hough coming to the city to make it big, with her journey finding her entering the doors of The Bourbon, a strip (?)/rock club. There she will meet the wacky owner and manager played by Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand, while behind the scenes, journalist Malin Akerman will eventually take her top off, while trying to do a piece on the enigmatic rocker played by Tom Cruise. Yes, the actor is going to belt out a few choice numbers and closes the trailer with Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead Or Alive," with the help of some pretty obvious auto tune. And oh yeah, Catherine Zeta-Jones made us throw up in our pants too...
Anyway, there is a big audience for this, it's just not us probably. But to Shankman's credit, he got the hokey, garish tone that embodies the '80s down cold. The film opens on June 15th, watch below.
