Among the various interesting titles to be hitting the Sundance Film Festival (which kicks off today) is “Kink.” The documentary, produced by James Franco and directed by Christina Voros, explores the world of BDSM pornography. If that alone doesn’t catch your curiosity, the film’s website has just released a trailer, helping to give us a better sense of how they approach the subject matter.

Here's the full synopsis for the film: Director Christina Voros and producer James Franco pull back the curtain on the fetish empire of Kink.com, the Internet’s largest producer of BDSM content. In a particularly obscure corner of an industry that operates largely out of public view, Kink.com’s directors and models strive for authenticity. In an enterprise often known for exploitative practices, Kink.com upholds an ironclad set of values to foster an environment that is safe, sane, and consensual. They aim to demystify the BDSM lifestyle, and to serve as an example and an educational resource for the BDSM community.

“Kink” is just another in a long line of collaborations between Christina Voros and James Franco. Voros has been the cinematographer for a number of different films and projects of Franco’s over the past couple of years, including for his upcoming films “Child of God” and “As I Lay Dying.” So far, “Kink” does not appear to have a distributor or a release date yet. Moreover, it's not the only movie Franco is repping in Park City, as he's also got the sexually fueled, "Cruising"-inspired meta-doc "Interior. Leather Bar." also unspooling.

"Kink" officially premieres at Sundance this Saturday in the midnight section of the festival. In the meantime, be sure to watch the trailer below.
