10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesWell luckily there’s going to be a chance soon to see the film domestically outside of the festivals when it opens to limited release on December 26th, and as a result we’re being treated to a new trailer. The trailer doesn’t highlight the film’s experimental structure (its split into two halves each filmed on different film stock, with the latter half essentially silent) but it can’t hide the fact that this is a black and white, subtitled effort. Still, they jazz things up with a Portuguese cover of “Be My Baby,” and it’s sure to intrigue its target art-house audience.
It can’t have been hard to find glowing quotes to stick on the trailer, but the selection here (including the quote above from our TIFF review) should suitably highlight just how in love with this film the critics are. The film stars Teresa Madruga, Laura Soveral, Ana Moreira, and if you’ve got 118 minutes spare once you’ve recovered from Christmas then we urge you to see it. Give the trailer and two clips for the movie a go and see if it wins you over. [The Film Stage]
