If you're wondering why these "Paranormal Activity" movies keep coming, it's not that hard to figure out: they're cheap to make, the concept is proven and audiences still like shaky-cam jump scares and creepy things happening in ordinary places. Rinse, repeat. And so, here comes "Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones." Yawn.

If you're wondering why these "Paranormal Activity" movies keep coming, it's not that hard to figure out: they're cheap to make, the concept is proven and audiences still like shaky-cam jump scares and creepy things happening in ordinary places. Rinse, repeat. And so, here comes "Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones." Yawn.

Oh, there is one sorta twist here. 'The Marked Ones' is actually a Latino-flavored spinoff, with the casting and apparently Catholic-based mythology, aiming squarely for a different demographic. But you could've fooled us as this looks like every other "Paranormal Activity" movie except with a more "urban" setting we guess. Otherwise, we suppose it's a good thing the setting is opened a bit more so we're not again stuck in someone's house, but everything else looks like it's sticking pretty closely to the template established by the previous movies.

"Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones" arrives on January 3, 2014. Watch below.
