Ben Wheatley has taken viewers down dark paths with "Kill List," on blackly comic road trips with "Sightseers" and into a crime family trying to keep it together with "Down Terrace," but perhaps nothing can prepare us for "A Field In England." And these this new teaser trailer and TV spot reveal that if anything, it's going to be a experience probably unlike many other things you'll see this summer.

A Field In England

Ben Wheatley has taken viewers down dark paths with "Kill List," on blackly comic road trips with "Sightseers" and into a crime family trying to keep it together with "Down Terrace," but perhaps nothing can prepare us for "A Field In England." And these this new teaser trailer and TV spot reveal that if anything, it's going to be a experience probably unlike many other things you'll see this summer.

Starring Michael Smiley, Julian Barratt and Reece Shearsmith, the story follows a group of deserters during the English Civil War -- okay cool, that makes sense --  who are captured by an alchemist, who wants them to help him search for hidden treasure in a mushroom field. Um, what? Presumably what follows, and certainly what these previews suggest, is something that blurs reality and fiction into a head spinning whirl. So yeah, we're stoked.

The film drops in England next week on July 5th simultaneous on TV, in theaters, on VOD and home video. Drafthouse Films will release the movie in the U.S. later this year. Watch below.
