Watch: 'True Detective' & 'Batman' Opening Credits Mashup Plus Lyric Video For Theme Song 'Far From Any Road'

No, we still haven't finished talking about the (sadly) finished “True Detective.” We plan to finish talking about it, oh, about a day before the second season starts airing, maybe? Maybe even later. And the rest of the internet is still with us on this one: they're still putting out various brilliant spoof videos, and here comes another one, featuring the truest detective of all: Batman.

No, we still haven't finished talking about the (sadly) finished “True Detective.” We plan to finish talking about it, oh, about a day before the second season starts airing, maybe? Maybe even later. And the rest of the internet is still with us on this one: they're still putting out various brilliant spoof videos, and here comes another one, featuring the truest detective of all: Batman.

Josh Newman's impressively slick video takes the HBO show's haunting, washed-out credits, with The Handsome Family's “Far From Any Road” theme song left intact, and inserts Bats' family of heroes and villains and the bleak cityscape of Gotham. The result is a show we'd really, really like to see, even if the Southern Gothic music makes less sense in this context. Batman and co. might be a bit too much to hope for in “True Detective” season two, but fingers crossed DC's “Gotham” TV series is thinking along these lines...
