While the fate of Quentin Tarantino's "The Hateful Eight" still seems undecided—over the weekend rumors emerged that it could be back on—let's take a break from waiting on the director's next movie, to look back on his last one. "Django Unchained" had no shortage of stories about the lengthy production and rotating cast members, and the lead role—Django, played by Jamie Foxx—had it's own history. Tarantino had first approached Will Smith for the part but he turned it down before it went to Foxx. But, had things really gone differently, perhaps we would've seen Tyrese Gibson in the titular role.

That's right, the model-turned-actor's audition tape for the movie has wormed it's way online, falling into the hands of the folks at World Star Hip Hop, and it's... interesting. Bookended by inspirational quotes, we get to see Tyrese take a big chunk out of the part of Django in his own way and... it's what you might expect from him. It's not exactly horrible, but it does hit all the notes you'd expect a tape showing Tyrese auditioning for "Django Unchained" to hit. And just remember, audition tapes are never the best highlight reel for anyone. But for curiosity's sake, watch it below.
