Vanessa Hudgens has had a pretty wild 2013, going from Harmony Korine's neon soaked pop nightmare "Spring Breakers" to the wilds of Alaska with Nicolas Cage in "The Frozen Ground." And she'll continue to shed her good girl image heading into 2014 with a role that'll make her near unrecognizable.

Gimmie Shelter, Vanessa Hudgens

Vanessa Hudgens has had a pretty wild 2013, going from Harmony Korine's neon soaked pop nightmare "Spring Breakers" to the wilds of Alaska with Nicolas Cage in "The Frozen Ground." And she'll continue to shed her good girl image heading into 2014 with a role that'll make her near unrecognizable.

Sporting a choppy dew and grime splattered face, Hudgens leads the upcoming "Gimme Shelter." And a new trailer has landed for the indie that'll find her working opposite Rosario Dawson, Brendan Fraser, James Earl Jones, Ann Dowd and Dascha Polanco, playing a pregnant, homeless teenager, forced to flee her abusive mother, rejected by her Wall Street father and trying to survive on the street. It looks like she'll make it as hope arrives via the sympathetic folks she meets in shelters, with Hudgens herself apparently going deep to research the part.

We'll see how her work pays off with "Gimme Shelter" drops on January 24, 2014. Watch below.
