Marketing a movie and making the message stick is definitely a challenge particularly when you are fighting dozens of other films for attention, but we hope Disney has some pay raises for the team behind "The Muppets" because they have put together the best campaign of any picture this year.
So far the film has been teased with a string of parody trailers, perfectly timed spots that have borrowed from movies like "Green Lantern" and "The Hangover Part II," and the latest is the best one yet. Less than 24 hours after Sony got the blogosphere buzzing with an early taste of "The Girl With Dragon Tattoo" that played in front of advance screenings of "Straw Dogs" last night, Disney has dropped a new "The Muppets" parody spot that hilariously riffs on David Fincher's film. Employing the same pacing, energy and giant font of the teaser for the Swedish chiller, this is yet another super cute, but not cloying, totally meta and self-consciously clever trailer that hits the nail right on the head. It definitely put a big smile on our faces.
"The Muppets" arrive on Thanksgiving. Wocka wocka wocka watch below. [Facebook]
