Watch: Keira Knightley Stars In Joe Wright Directed Ad For Chanel Coco Mademoiselle

Keira Knightley and Joe Wright have collaborated successfully on two solid pictures so far -- "Atonement" and "Pride & Prejudice" -- so is it any surprise that their latest project together, a spot for Coco Mademoiselle, would be a cut above the usually flaccid fashion spots?

The full length advert, directed by Wright and starring Knightley, has arrived and while it's not gonna win any Oscars, it actually conjures some very real sexual tension -- something a lot of these kinds of ads aspire to but never achieve. The sorta meta concept features Knightley zooming her way to a photoshoot on a futuristic motorcycle and deciding to seduce the photographer by slowly shedding her jumpsuit. It's actually pretty well-handled even if Joss Stone's cover of "It's A Man's Man's World" is kind of terrible; but hey, it helps get the steam rising, so kudos for that.

You check out the full commercial below and this fall Wright/Knightley will once again work together on "Anna Karenina" that currently has Aaron Johnson and Jude Law circling.

    this is not very good. i like Wright's work, but this is just boring artifice. standard, commercial stuff. looks like it was written/edited by an executive marketing team. maybe if Wong Kar Wai had directed this it would have been interesting.

    Stick-insect thin woman in masculine outfit, riding masculine bike, seduces photographer, but never shows any unseemly womanly bits.

    Why not just cut to the chase and put a pretty boy in make-up doing the same thing? It's what they really want anyway.

    too long. i got bored about half way through. And for a Chanel ad (even if it's perfume) she's wearing the most non-descript and bland outfit throughout the whole thing. The most interesting part of her entire look was the purple necklace you saw for about 2 seconds.

    Hostility, Alex? Why all the hate towards two women you've never met and probably will never meet?

    People are allowed to express their opinions, good or bad, about a commercial. Lighten up.

    Plus, I agree, it seems like a lot of wasted energy and scenery for a fragrance.

    Turns out that "emily Hale" and "katie" know more about filmmaking than Joe Wright.

    "emily", there are VERY FEW women on this planet who can wear something like that and look stunning... I'm sure that if you wore that, you'd look like something straight out of an Eddy Murphy "fat girl" movie.

    Mmm. I think that the only commercial you girls could be in, would be one shot at the manatee tank at Sea World.

    Nice, but there are a lot of wasted shots and space. I think of the other one, the Chanel #5 commercial with Audrey Tautou - directed by her Amelie and Long Engagement director Jean-Pierre Jeunet - and how it used each and every frame so beautifully.
