Just in case you didn't get enough DC Comics excitement today with Warner Bros. releasing the first image of Tom Hardy as Bane from "The Dark Knight Rises" in the first of what is sure to be many viral stunts, they've also released the latest trailer for "Green Lantern." As the film is going to be a bit of a harder sell for WB, you don't even have to jump through any hoops to watch it. By releasing a new trailer what seems like every few weeks, the studio has done a good job of turning fan expectations around after some shaky early footage. As someone on Twitter said, "I feel shortchanged on days there isn't a new "Green Lantern" trailer."

The latest clip is for audiences who aren't familiar with the comics and get's all the exposition out front. (Seriously, it takes a full minute and a half just to explain what's going on here.) It also looks to be a showcase for the film's 3D, (though you can only watch it online in 2D), it's going to be attached to 3D prints so we imagine it'll be a bit more immersive in theaters. While we thought the film was facing an uphill battle incorporating more fantastical elements than comic fans have been used to with more grounded films like "The Dark Knight," if Marvel Studios can turn "Thor" into a hit, we don't see why 'Lantern' should have a problem.

We'll see when “Green Lantern” opens on June 17th. You can watch the latest trailer below.

I love how every trailer for this movie keeps explaining the origin story. And holy hell, the CGI still looks pretty rough in spots.

We all scream for Green Screen!!! This movie looks horrendous. Blompkamp can create better effects using a mirror and a flashlight. True summer dreck. Hopefully Snyder's Supes does intergalactic wow much better.

It looks a lot better now that they've cut Blake Lively out of the trailers.

I don't know. I feel like focusing so much on the backstory is a step in the wrong direction when it comes to casual fans. I think they need to focus more on the happenings on Earth.
Right now I'm expecting this to make Fantastic Four money. If they moved it to August (which is fairly empty), it might have a better chance but there are too many other movies coming out around it and I think it's going to be the film that gets lost.

The CG doesn't look any worse or less convincing to my eye than the CG of LOTR or Harry Potter.

Reynolds looks exactly like Gil Kane's Silver Age Hal Jordan, right down to the white irises when he puts on his mask.

This is my favorite one so far. Maybe because Reynolds only appears halfway through and he only speaks to say the GL oath.

Ryan Reynold's blue eyes in the costume kinda' freak me out. They're like Bradley Cooper's blue eyes.
