10 Essential Cinematic Antiheroes
Pushed back multiple times and then eventual post-converted into 3D, Screen Gems' vampire thingy "Priest" is really and truly finally hitting theaters and while it looks completely terrible, with a pretty prime spring release date, maybe the final joke will be us. After all, audiences ate up the last 'Resident Evil' movie so who knows anything any more.
Anyway, a new two and half minute trailer has arrived and we can't make heads or tails of it. Director Scott Charles Stewart seems to have stuffed four or five different movies into one here, but apparently the film will follow a priest (Paul Bettany) who must rescue his niece when she is kidnapped by vampires. Her boyfriend and sheriff (Cam Gigandet) and a priestess (Maggie Q) came long for the ride. Oh yeah, it's set in the future apparently and Paul Bettany is armed with ninja stars or something. Yeah, it looks pretty dreadful with all the standard jump scares and dim, drab set design this kind of film usually has. It mostly left us wondering when Paul Bettany is going to fire his agent.
"Priest" arrives in 3D on May 13th. Trailer after the jump.

If by dreadful you mean amazing?
Who could have predicted when watching "A Knight's Tale" and "Wimbledon" that Bettany would turn into an angel-vampire-action superstar!?
