Two world come colliding together in the what looks to be a pretty tepid wedding comedy, "Jumping The Broom," that is basically a Katherine Heigl movie minus Katherine Heigl but plus "white people" jokes.
Starring Paula Patton, Angela Bassett, Laz Alonso, Loretta Devine and Romeo (aka Lil' Romeo), the film chronicles the laughter and tears that happen as a result of a marriage between two people that brings together two families: one rich, and one, not-so-rich. How will they ever get along!? This looks pretty dreadful no matter what your skin color is. Patton impressed us in "Precious" and she's definitely a talent on the rise, so we hope "Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol" gets her out of the rom-com rut (see also: "Just Wright").
"Jumping The Broom" will hit theaters on May 6th. Check out the spot below.

It is not easy being a Black Actress in Hollywood. Look, Angela Bassett should have had a Cate Blanchett type of career- that never materialized.

Yes, she is gorgeous. Robin Thicke is a lucky man as is she to have his fine behind.
As for the topic at hand, it is a typical rom rom that will be revered and hated by many. I'm just glad my girl is getting decent work, however, I do feel she will fall into the crap of nothing but mediocrity.
I am seeing nothing but being the pretty face type roles in her future. Hope I am wrong but I don't think so.

I think this looks okay, actually. I mean, as far as rom-coms go.
