Review: 'The Immigrant'Well it turns out that wasn’t the first time someone had recognized the live-action potential of the characters, because back in 1991 a pilot for a "Power Pack" TV show was filmed. The company New World arrived at Cannes earlier that year and announced that they had plans for a “Punisher” sequel, a “She-Hulk” movie starring Brigitte Nielsen (someone should make this now!) and a "Power Pack" show. Only the latter actually went in front of cameras before the company folded and sold its operations to Sony, and now thanks to the magic of YouTube, we can watch that pilot.
It’s certainly very early '90s, and if Marvel does ever decide to resurrect the property in some live-action form then we’re willing to bet it wouldn’t resemble this in the slightest. That being said, with Disney and Marvel now one and the same we could see a show like this turning up on the Disney Channel as a sort of super-powered "The Goonies" riff. It would certainly set Marvel off snaring their audience from an even younger age. Watch below. [Sean Howe]
