10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesBut now the film has a title, in "Blue Jasmine," revealed in a press release along with the news that the film has a distributor in the shape of Sony Pictures Classics. That shouldn't be a huge surprise; SPC has looked after Allen's last four films, and while last year's "To Rome With Love" didn't match the enormous success of its predecessor "Midnight In Paris," the film was likely still profitable, and they're presumably hoping for another piece of summer counter-programming (though no release date has been set yet). The press release also reveals that Michael Stuhlbarg has joined the cast, which is always welcome news, and that the film is "the story of the final stages of an acute crisis and a life of a fashionable New York housewife."
